Mariann (Elice) Sharra, 66, left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, April 5, 2024.
She was born January 25, 1958, in Auburn, NY to John and Anna (Greco) Elice. Mariann was a graduate of Auburn High School. She married the love of her life, Donald H. Sharra, and went on to raise 2 children. She was a hard worker, with various jobs, most recently retiring from Kohls, after 15 years.
Family meant everything to Mariann. She never missed an opportunity to show her love, support and kindness. Her grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews enjoyed her presence at any event. Her “way to go” and precious cheering at soccer, basketball, hockey games, school plays, cello concerts, graduations, etc. will be remembered by all. She never missed a chance to support family.
Mariann was a selfless person. Anyone that ever met her, knew right away, she was one of a kind. She was the type of person that would drop everything to come and help you, whether it be running an errand, or doing an odd job. The compassion and kind-heartedness Mariann showed towards family, friends, animals and everything in between was unmeasurable.
Mariann loved nature. She enjoyed gardening, collecting unusual rocks, making flower arrangements, going for walks, bird watching, everything about the outdoors. She was passionate about loving, caring and rescuing all animals. She especially loved horses. She loved the challenge of crossword puzzles, playing Yahtzee, and a good game of pinochle. In death, Mariann continues to give life, as an organ doner. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Mariann was predeceased by her parents and her brother Johnny.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donald H. Sharra; her children Mindy Ann Ianiri and Donald John (DJ) Sharra; her grandchildren: Michael and Mason Ianiri, Madeline and Lucas Sharra; her sister, Joanne Sherwood (Paul Kosinski); sister in laws, brother in laws; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; godchildren, her aunts, uncles and cousins.
