Barney C. Mizro, 61 of Auburn passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family after battling pancreatic cancer for the past six months.
He was a life resident of Auburn, the son of the late Barney and Evelyn (French) Mizro. Barney was an Auburn High School graduate, Class of 1981. He spent most of his life working in heating and plumbing as a very skilled HVAC Technican. Barney previously worked for Hoadley Plumbing, Hares & Orman, and more recently for Lilly Plumbing and Gallagher-Lilly Plumbing, until his recent illness. He also tended bar at both Curley's Restaurant and Snapper's Bar for several years. Barney loved the annual trips to Ocean City and above everything, cherished the times spent with his family. He will be deeply missed, but forever in the hearts of those that loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Susan (Netti) Mizro , beloved son Nicholas Mizro, four siblings, Dan (Liz) Mizro, Michael (Chris) Mizro, Lori (James) Ferlenda, Marcia Mizro, sister-in-law Judy Mizro, brother-in-law Jack Netti, sister-in-law Phyllis Catalfano, nephews Shawn (Deanna) and Danny Mizro, Tommy (Rebecca) and Michael (Payton Richer) Ferlenda and Matt Netti. nieces Sherri (Bob) Wagner, Christine Mizro, Lacey, Caroline and Claire Netti, great-nephews Bobby (Rebekah Manley) and Ryan (Kasey) Wagner. Great nieces Lilly Wagner, Ellie and Tessa Mizro and Olivia Ferlenda and several cousins and close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother Thomas Mizro, brother-in-law Frankie Catalfano, and his in-laws Patsy and Rita Netti.
Calling hours will be held inside of Sacred Heart Church this Thursday, April 18th from 4 to 7 pm . Barney's Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, April 19th at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 90 Melrose Rd.,Auburn,NY 13021. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
